Our Story

Emily was two bilingual children’s mom who used to work as a supply chain manager before 2015. When she became a mother for the first time, she and her husband -- an Intel engineer -- decided to take a couple of college classes on Early Childhood Education, because Emily knew how important parenting and education are for every child’s early years.

However, as busy parents with challenging work schedules, Emily and her husband found it extremely difficult to find an ideal daycare that could meet their expectations and balance their life/work schedules. Both of her kids started to go to childcare in their very early months: they got dropped off in the very early morning and picked up very late. However, there was not even one childcare center fully satisfied the expectations from her family for good care and quality education.

If Emily had been an ordinary working mother, our story would have ended here. However, knowing the importance of early childhood education and the struggles of working moms to balance their work and family, Emily came up with the idea to start a bilingual child center which would help working moms in our community, taking care of their young children and providing quality early childhood education, so they can endeavor for their career without concerns.

In 2015, Emily left her position of supply chain manager from Boeing Company and founded Bamboo International School. Over the years, Bamboo has enlisted outstanding educators who love children and are passionate about education. We are dedicated to provide quality care and outstanding bilingual early childhood education; we also strive to improve the pay and benefits for our amazing teachers so their income matches the value they create.

On May 3rd, 2021 Bamboo International School opened its second location at Bethany Village. Our journey continues and we aspire to make Bamboo a better program.
